What We Do

Practices and Performances

Rapport Singers – Weekly Practice at Trinity United Church

The Rapport Singers normally offer two major concerts per season in North Bay and the surrounding area, often partnering with other solo artists or artistic groups. Weekly rehearsals begin early in September for our first main concert date in the fall. A second major concert takes place close to the start of May. Details of our next performance can be found by clicking on the upcoming concerts page listed on the site menu.

Our rehearsals usually take place in the sanctuary of Trinity United Church, (6:45 to 9:15 pm) but extra sectional rehearsals are held as needed  at a time decided by the members of each section.

 Community Outreach

Over the past few years, Rapport has been invited to sing at various events in the surrounding community.  We have performed at special dinners, a curling championship, Relay for Life events, and at long-term care facilities, just to mention a few places we have been. By taking our music out into the community, we know that we make a difference –  as many smiling faces and tapping toes will attest. We like to sing, and people like to listen. We are proud of the rapport that we establish with our audience, wherever we go… because that’s who we are!

Fundraising

Donations, program advertising, and sponsorships are important sources of financial support for our choir. Throughout our season, however,  Rapport members undertake various fundraising endeavours.

Singing Christmas carols in the lobby of a local hotel, hosting a dinner cabaret, and providing entertainment for special functions are some of the musical ways that we have raised necessary funds in the past.

Rapport members also fundraise by selling shopping cards that can be used in a variety of retail stores (gas/food/hardware etc.). If you wish to know more about how you can be part of this fundraising initiative we invite you to message us via the contact page,  or speak to any Rapport member.
